Popping in here again talking about Ashtanga Mysore Yoga, some of the essential and unique aspects of the practice and some of the benefits.

And I totally forgot to actually talk about what I wanted to talk about 🙈🙈🙈:

It is so valuable to have a practice where you take time to bring awareness to your embodied experience.

See in the world we live in, most of us are constantly oriented outwardly (outside our body), with the senses attaching to all sorts of stimuli all the time and us allowing the senses to drag us around.

This gets us feeling overextended, overwhelmed, disconnected from ourselves and into imbalance. And it’s not the best place to be in and experiencing life from.

A practice, such as Ashtanga Yoga, that focuses the senses allows us to cultivate literacy about our body’s sensations (interoception), understanding about ourselves and this gives us agency.

Putting us back into the drivers seat of our life - rather than operating from our mental control tower - we are coming to a more anchored from within experience (embodied) - allowing us to make more discerning decisions about our lives.

That’s actually what I wanted to talk about… but good for you I didn’t, I could easily spend the whole afternoon on that 😂

✨ As we approach the full moon, here’s a gentle reminder: traditionally, there’s no Mysore Yoga practice on Moondays. Instead, on the 18th, I’ll be guiding you through the soothing Chandra Krama (Moon Sequence) 🌕💫

Chandra Krama is a gentle Vinyasa sequence accessible to everyone, designed to release unnecessary tension and foster a deeper connection between your body, mind, and soul. 🧘‍♀️✨ It’s all about honoring where you are and inviting self-compassion and calm.

With a focus on the hips, groin, lower spine, and abdominals, this practice gently awakens and releases tension, while also providing relief for the neck, shoulders, and wrists. 💆‍♀️💖

One of the most beautiful aspects of Chandra Krama is how it helps us let go and embrace the present moment. 🌿

You can join us for this nurturing practice in-person at the shala or online via Zoom. 🌍💻

Starting 1 October, you can join us for Ashtanga Yoga every weekday from 7 am onwards again!

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, practice is until 10:30 am, giving you even more flexibility to integrate your yoga into your day. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday remains 7-9 am). 🧘‍♂️🌅

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make the early morning consistency happen again and are so excited to offer this expanded schedule to support you on your journey. 🙌💫

I’ll be sharing more details in the coming weeks, but I just couldn’t wait any longer to spread the word! 🎉

I’m immensely grateful for having established a

I’m immensely grateful for having established a toolbox of embodied practices that allows me to foster balance in my body and mind by cultivating my felt sense experience - and also it’s an ongoing process ✨

This has been crucial for developing literacy and understanding of the language of my body. Gaining this fluency has tremendously helped me shift my life to a much more harmonious direction over the past 20 years.

It has allowed me discernment and decision making from a space rooted deep within rather than from being pulled in all directions by overwhelm, fear and trying to control.

Key in this toolbox is consistency- skilled consistency in that being able to adapt to life circumstances but showing up so the nervous system receives the needed input to switch towards more balance (or keep that switch more readily on).

Wishing for everyone to have access to their toolbox to foster resilience, calm, balance and agency and no matter what.

This is at the core of my teachings here at @bhumiyoga.nl and @maxi.nourishedlife

Our Fall Ashtanga Workshop is just around the corner in Groningen on 12/10, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! 🙌

This workshop is all about exploring a harmonious approach to the Intermediate Series, up to Ardha Matsyendrasana, with modifications available for every pose. It’s designed to be safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all levels of ability.🧘‍♀️✨

This workshop is recommended for all with an established Primary Series practice and also for those who may practice Intermediate Series already. 💪🌸

The intention of this workshop is to facilitate a path for all students and levels of ability to intelligently get started with this series and if already practicing intermediate series gain valuable insights into this practice. Modifying and substituting where necessary options will be given.

Moreover, it will bring insight into the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the practice. Taking time to explore possibilities, individual modifications, and alignment, whilst adapting some poses to our unique selves, we will seek to free up pathways that help us find greater ease and space in our body.🌱💫

Each body can benefit from the harmonious nature of intermediate, whilst remaining safe and agreeably challenged.

Whether you are curious to learn how the intermediate series works or whether you want to deepen your knowledge and practice of the sequence, this workshop allows all those with an established Mysore practice to get a taste of diving into the depths of intermediate series.

If it’s not an 8 or higher, it’s time to reassess how you approach your practice and adjust so your inner dialogue grows more self-accepting and compassionate allowing you to release all that unnecessary effort you fight with yourself and waste energy. 🌱

I just finished teaching the opening workshop of our 1 Month Ashtanga Mysore Yoga Immersion for Newcomers - and all about introducing newcomers to this amazing and powerful practice and our wonderful community makes me so happy!🥰

I think it’s been 2 years since I have offered this special way of getting started with Ashtanga Mysore Yoga.

Love getting newcomers together, sharing in this way and witnessing them establishing a yoga practice that’s truly theirs! 😍

Can’t wait for all the magic to unfold for them over the next coming weeks!🌟🦋🔥
